Australia’s golden haul at the IBBA World Championships
The Australian Team claim eight of a possible 12 medals at the World Blind Bowls Championships in South Africa Australia has secured six gold medals, one silver and one bronze in a highly successful International Blind Bowls World Championships in South Africa.
In total, the Australian team claimed eight of the possible 12 medals on offer during the benchmark event concluding yesterday.
The final days play saw another two Australian pairs combinations walk away with silverware, a further gold and bronze added to the Australians overwhelming medal tally.
The B4 Mixed Pairs team of Lynne Seymour (QLD) and Dennis Wormald (QLD) added a second medal to their collection, and a dual gold for Lynne Seymour, adding to the gold medal she won in the B4 Women’s Singles.
Dennis Wormald converted his fortunes from the singles final on the penultimate day, turning a silver medal winning performance in the B4 Men’s Singles to a Mixed Pairs gold, ensuring he also leaves South Africa a World Champion.
Wayne Thomson (NSW) was already a B1 Men’s Singles World Champion; however he wasn’t done just yet, teaming up with Jenny Skinner (QLD) to claim bronze in the B1 Mixed Pairs.
