Jackaroos extend lead against England

by admin on April 26, 2017

The Jackaroos have furthered their lead against the Old Enemy during the second day of play at the 2017 Australia v England Test at Broadbeach. The Jackaroos hold a commanding lead after two sessions of play on day two of the 2017 Australia v England Test at Broadbeach.

Australia collected five wins from this morning’s six rubbers, and a further four victories in this afternoon’s second session, to lead the Old Enemy 46 points to 18.

The two nations are also competing in Bowls Premier League format matches, which are being filmed for the second season of The Bowls Show on SBS.

The English players have adapted well to the unique fast-paced format of the BPL, which is sets-play pairs with a substitute player, time-limited deliveries and power-play ends each set, with the score split one-game each after two rubbers.

The winner of each match, including BPL matches, is awarded 2 points, and 1 for a draw.

All matches played during the three days of competition, across both genders, combine together to determine the test winner.

Australia finished the first day with a 26-10 lead, and have extended the margin to 46-18 following today’s ten wins across two sessions and two BPL matches.

The third session is currently underway on the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games greens, with an additional two BPL matches also set to be staged today.

The combined ladder from the five sessions, and two BPL matches, played to date across the two days can be viewed below.
