Kurri Still Tops After Two Defeats

KURRI Kurri grabbed the Invitation Big Bowls Challenge minor premiership despite losing two rain-deferred matches this week.

They lost 8.5-6.5 to reigning champions East Maitland on Monday night and 9-6 to inaugural titleholders Halekulani on Tuesday night.

Redhead (125 points) finished second and will host Ettalong Memorial (121.5) in a semi-final tomorrow night.

Ettalong Memorial slipped back to third after losing 10-5 to East Maitland in the final round.

The winners of that match will meet Kurri Kurri, and the losers will meet the winners of tomorrow night's elimination semi-final between Charlestown and Valentine at Charlestown.

Charlestown (112.5) finished fourth despite losing 9.5-5.5 to Wallsend on Monday night, Valentine (106) were fifth and Wallsend (96.5) sixth.
