BOWLS manager Clay Parker has resorted to some tried-and-tested combinations for Maitland City when they host equal leaders Cabramatta in the NSW Premier League on Sunday morning.
Maitland City are on two points with only one win from their first three matches while Cabramattta are on six.Brothers Shannon, Nathan and Simon Mitchell all played in one rink while Tim and younger brother Sam Twining played lead and second for Parker when East Maitland won the Zone Six No.1-grade pennant last year. The entire team followed Parker over when he moved to Maitland last October."It has worked in the past," Parker said. "This is the best combination we have put on the park so far this season."Ben Harrison will lead for the Mitchell brothers while Rod Darcy will play third for Parker.Internationals Peter Belliss, Ryan Bester and Neil Burkett are the three Cabramatta skippers.Toronto Workers will be putting their unbeaten record to the test when they are home to Mt Lewis (2) also on Sunday morning. The Lions boast three internationals in Garry Willis, David Holt and Adam Jeffrey as their skippers.Raymond Terrace (2) will be keen to get their season back on track at home against Merrylands (0) in their match beginning at noon on Sunday. The Jets only have one win from three matches and skipper Jason Stokes fears they will be in for a long season if they suffer another defeat this week."It is imperative for us to get our heads on and back on track," Stokes said.
