EIGHTEEN-TIME Illawarra singles winner, multiple state, Australian and world champion and aspiring two-time author - bowls legend Merle Richardson is a woman of many talents.

Merle - Australia's most decorated female lawn bowler - is looking for a publisher for her book about bowls' revolution from a staid game of white and green to a young person's game splashed with colour.

About 20 years ago, Merle (pictured) published Bowls for Everyone, an 182-page tome full of practical tips on the art of bowls.

"I want to introduce young people to the game and what's expected of them," Merle said.

"Young ones might try the game for a couple of weeks and introduce their friends but without a coach they might fall into some bad habits."

Merle has collated her thoughts on technique, etiquette and "everything people need to know when coming into bowls" onto tape - all that's needed now is a publisher and a title.

Contact Merle on 4283 4275 if you can help.
