2019 Australian Championships: NSW secured Mixed Pairs title
Cabramatta’s Erin Swatridge and Aaron Wilson have collected the Mixed Pairs title to round out the 2019 Australian Championships, prevailing a blockbuster final against Queensland.
The NSW duo, up against the mother-in-law/son-in-law duo of Liz Walton and Aron Sherriff, burst out the blocks to a big lead early, before Queensland wrestled back the momentum to force a last-ditched victory by Swatridge and Wilson.
Down 14-15 on the final end, NSW produced a match-result of three to snatch victory, after Queensland had dominated the second-half of the match.
Elsewhere, the Victorian duo of Jess Wallace and Josh Sanders produced a comfortable victory over Tasmania’s Jennie Suttie and Josh Appleyard to claim the bronze medal.
