2021 AO: All sectional redraws finalised

The redraws for all 2021 Australian Open disciplines have now been finalised and should be viewed by all participating players.

Today’s update makes the under-18 boys’ and girls’ singles, multi-disability open pairs and the mixed pairs support event disciplines’ redraws available.

Bowls Australia wishes all competitors the best of luck and good bowls for the 2021 Australian Open.

A further seven disciplines’ redraws have been completed and should now be viewed by all participating players.

The redraws for the men’s fours, women’s fours, over-60s men’s pairs, over-60s women’s pairs, vision-impaired open singles, multi-disability men’s singles and multi-disability women’s singles are now available.

These are in addition to the redraws for the men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s pairs and women’s pairs which were released last Saturday.

The remaining disciplines, including the multi-disability open pairs, under-18 boys’ singles and under-18 girls’ singles, are in the process of being completed, and are expected to be finalised by the end of the week.

All players are strongly encouraged to re-check the sectional draws, as section numbers, venues and competition days may have changed as a result of the redraw.

Due to the inability of most Victorian and overseas players to participate in this year’s event, the prize-money distribution has been adjusted to $250,500.

Despite most Victorian and overseas players not being able to participate, the prize-money offered is the same as the last event staged in 2019.

The new prize-money breakdown can be viewed on the prize-money page and inside the online event program book.

2021 AUSTRALIAN OPEN: OPENING FOUR DISCIPLINE’S RE-DRAWS NOW LIVE.

Sectional redraws for the 2021 Australian Open’s opening four disciplines – the men’s and women’s singles and pairs – are now live.

The redraws have occurred following the withdrawal of many Victorians, who are unable to attend this year’s event due to the extended lockdown in Metropolitan Melbourne and subsequent classification of the whole state as a COVID-19 hotspot.

Redraws for the remaining 10 disciplines will occur in the coming days, with Victorian-registered players residing outside Victoria that are intending to play required to contact BA by close of business on Monday, June 7 to remain in the field.

All players are strongly encouraged to re-check the sectional draws, as section numbers, venues and competition days may have changed as a result of the redraw.

Bowlers will be able to confirm which section they have fallen in, who else is in their section, where they are playing and on what date their section will be played for each of the opening four disciplines of the event.
