2023 World Bowls Championships schedule locked in

The schedule for the 2023 World Bowls Championships has been locked in ahead of the biggest edition of of the event in its history.

Five clubs on Australia’s Gold Coast will play host to the largest instalment of the World Championships across 12 days of bowls action.

More than 400 competitors from 44 countries around the world will descend on the Gold Coast from August 29 – September 10, competing in 1244 matches at the first World Bowls Championships since 2016.

The competition will kick off with a bang, with seven disciplines competing in the first week of play.

Women’s singles, men’s pairs, men’s triples, women’s fours, para women’s pairs, para men’s pairs and para mixed pairs (VI) will take place from August 29 – September 3.

The first three days features sectional play, with knockout rounds commencing on September 1.

September 2 will see finals for men’s pairs, men’s triples, women’s fours, para women’s pairs, para mixed pairs (VI), with para men’s pairs and women’s singles finals on September 3.

After a rest day on September 4, the remaining disciplines of men’s singles, women’s pairs, women’s triples and men’s fours will compete from September 5 – September 10.

Similar to the first week, there will be three days of sectional action before knockout play starts.

Men’s fours and women’s pairs finals will take place on September 9, with women’s triples and men’s singles wrapping up the event on September 10.

With 1151 sectional matches to be played across the 11 disciplines, there is an abundance of high-quality contests coming the way of bowls fans.
