2024 BPL Cup: Day 1 recap

by Val Febbo on November 13, 2024

The opening day of the 2024 BPL Cup has seen some sensational contests on the hallowed greens of Club Pine Rivers as the 12 teams look to etch their names into the history books.

Almost two rounds were completed on Tuesday with two matches rescheduled to Wednesday due to flight delays for some of the teams.

Section one sees South Perth on top of the table after two wins from as many matches, with Canberra and Cremorne in second and third respectively after just a solitary match following the aforementioned travel difficulties.

Glen Innes sit on a split ledger in fourth while MCC and Airlie Beach round out the pool without win.

Three teams sit unblemished after the first day of action as South Australia’s Berri top the table on a pair of wins with the home team of Club Pine Rivers in second on the same ledger.

Following them after just one outing for the day are the defending champions of Ettalong as they look to become the first team to go back-to-back in tournament history?

Osborne Park, Rosebud Beach Community and Alice Springs Golf are in fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
