2024 National Schools Championships to light up Geelong

by Val Febbo on September 17, 2024

For the first time in bowls’ history, the sport will have a fully recognised national high school competition as the National Schools Championships hits the City of Geelong Bowling Club this week.

Across three days, five states will take to the green in the first tournament of its kind, held jointly with School Sport Australia.

Competing at the event will be Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia, with ten matches to be live streamed on Bowls Australia’s YouTube channel across the week.

The respective teams will also enjoy a coaching clinic on Tuesday afternoon prior to competition, held by Australian Pathways Coaches, Right at Home Emerging Jackaroos and former Australian representatives.

Following the conclusion of the finals on Friday, an All Australian team will be picked as the event’s best players.
