Awards Night nominations now available

Don’t miss your chance to nominate someone you think may be deserving of one or more of these prestigious awards! Bowls Australia has today released the nomination forms for the sport’s 2014 Awards Night, which will recognise the outstanding achievements of some of the nation’s finest bowlers and administrators.

Staged at the Burnie Arts and Function Centre in Tasmania on Saturday, March 29, during the annual Super 6 and time-honoured Australian Sides Championships, 10 categories will be up for grabs including the International Bowler of the Year, awarded based on votes cast by the Australian Jackaroos team following each capped event in 2013.

The remaining categories include:

    Male Bowler of the Year;
    Female Bowler of the Year;
    BCiB Under-18 Male Bowler of the Year;
    Under-18 Female Bowler of the Year;
    CDO of the Year;
    Coach of the Year;
    Official of the Year;
    Story of the Year; and
    Volunteer of the Year

Nominations for the 2014 Bowls Australia awards are currently open to all affiliated bowlers, with entries closing on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 5.00pm AEDT.

Last year’s Awards Night saw world number four Aron Sherriff secure his second International Bowler of the Year award, while Karen Murphy triumphed in the Female Bowler of the Year category, and Mark Casey took out the Male Bowler of the Year.
