BA CEO recognised with award from Governor-General

Bowls Australia (BA) Chief Executive Officer Neil Dalrymple has been recognised for his work as a leader in the sports industry during a difficult year and contributing widely to Australian sport, receiving an honour from the Australian Governor-General.

Governor-General of Australia David Hurley AC DSC awarded Mr Dalrymple with a medal to recognise his contributions to the Confederation of Australian Sport (CAS) throughout 2020.

The Governor-General is the Patron of CAS.

“Neil has made an outstanding contribution to CAS this year and thoroughly deserves this award,” CAS President Rob Bradley said.

Mr Dalrymple said he was surprised but was very honoured to have received the award from the Governor-General.

“It was a great surprise to receive this award and I am very grateful to CAS and their Board for their nomination of me for this award and their support throughout 2020,” he said.

“I thoroughly enjoy my position as CEO of Bowls Australia and together with my Board role with CAS, I look forward to continuing to be a strong advocate for Bowls and more broadly the sports industry in 2021.”

2020 has provided its challenges for BA as it has for many other organisations, but initiatives such as the Helping Hand Fund, significant fee relief and the Return to Bowls Plan and Toolkit will establish a solid base moving forward to what is hoped to be a brighter year in 2021.
