Bowls Australia congratulate Jo Edwards on distinguished career

by Bowls Australia on November 20, 2020

Bowls Australia (BA) would like to extend its sincerest congratulations to New Zealand’s Jo Edwards, who has announced her retirement from international representation after 646 caps for her country.

Edwards, a three-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist and pioneer for the sport in New Zealand, enjoyed a distinguished international career spanning 20 years at the highest level.

The 50-year-old tasted ultimate success in all pinnacle events on offer in the sport, including at Commonwealth Games, World Bowls Championships and World Cups, where she was a six-time winner of the latter.

Edwards was a familiar face in BA’s Bowls Premier League competition, competing for both the New Zealand Blackjacks and Murray Steamers, having won the event with both teams at APL03 and the most recent BPL11.

BA would like to take the opportunity to wish Edwards the very best in the next chapter of her life and congratulate her on her status as a wonderful ambassador for our sport.
