Bowls Premier League Expansion: Expression of Interest for new licensees

by Bowls Australia on April 5, 2019

Bowls Australia (BA) is delighted to confirm that it will be expanding the number of teams for its Bowls Premier League (BPL) competition in 2019.

The first of its kind, the BPL has been a ground-breaking event for bowls in Australia.

A fast and exciting version of the game comprising the best players the sport has to offer, the BPL will be returning to Club Pine Rivers this November for its tenth instalment (BPL10) and we’re seeking new licensees to part of an expanded competition.

The beloved competition will again be broadcast exclusively on Fox Sports with 20 hours of live coverage of the night sessions, including finals.

The current eight-team BPL is based around a flexible licensee ownership model, aiming to create consumer engagement with each teams’ respective geographical area. The BPL allows more than one team in each state or region.

BPL licenses (of a three-year duration) have typically been issued to:

– an individual club
– Two or more clubs located within a particular region (which together form an incorporated entity)
– a State bowls association
– a private organisation
– a National bowls association

Please complete the online Expression of Interest form to confirm your interest in being part of the future of the BPL.

The successful new licensees will have their contracts begin on July 1, 2019 and enter the competition from BPL10 from November 12-15, 2019.
