#BPL12: Day 2

by Lachlan Williams on February 25, 2021

History was made on the second day of #BPL12 at Moama on Wednesday, with the Melbourne Pulse writing themselves into the record books.

The Pulse became the first side in competition history to progress through the first eight rounds with a perfect record of eight wins and no losses.

“We came into today hoping we’d win two to get us off to another good start but to win four is unreal,” Pulse player Ellen Ryan said.

The Pulse continued to capitalise in their tie-breaks to extend their unbeaten run, leaving other teams in the lurch on day two.

Sitting second after four rounds, the Melbourne Roys failed to register a win on Wednesday to slip down the standings.

Sydney Lions clawed their way back after a winless Tuesday, recording three-wins including a final-bowl thriller thanks to Aron Sherriff.

The Adelaide Pioneers and Brisbane Pirates continued their solid start to the competition, while the Perth Suns and Tweed Heads Ospreys are part of the mid-table logjam on three wins.

Reigning champions and home-town team Murray Steamers will have some work to do if they want a chance to defend their title, winning just two games from their first eight rounds.

Play will resume from 10.30am AEDT at Moama on Thursday.
