#BPL12: Thulborn claims second MVP crown

by Lachlan Williams on February 26, 2021

Adelaide Pioneers star Scott Thulborn is now a two-time Bowls Premier League MVP, winning the #BPL12 crown at Moama.

Thulborn had a dominant week for the Pioneers, steering the side to its first finals appearance in franchise history and to the #BPL12 Final.

Thulborn was the inaugural tournament MVP while representing the Adelaide Endurance in what was then the Australian Premier League back in 2013.

“This one’s a bit of a shock. Obviously a quality field, legendary players all around,” he said.

Perth Suns’ Ray Pearse, who made his way into the side due to the loss of Cody Packer, finished as MVP runner up, proving himself as a great recruit for the Suns.

Despite finishing at the bottom of the table, Murray Steamers’ Ryan Bester finished third in the MVP count, reiterating the Canadian’s immense talent.

Aron Teys (Tweed Heads Ospreys) and Aron Sherriff (Sydney Lions) rounded out the top five, both with impressive weeks as well.
