#BPL14: Day 2 wrap

by Lachlan Williams on February 22, 2022

Home team Moama Steamers continued to set the pace across the second day of #BPL14 action, which took place at the Moama Bowling Club on Tuesday.

After seven rounds of play, the Steamers have lost just one match, and look on somewhat destined to securing a finals place later in the week.

That loss came in a thrilling tie-break finish against reigning champions Tweed Heads Ospreys in the final match of the day.

It was an important win for the Ospreys, who sit in the mix with three wins but are well off the pace from their previous title efforts.

Adelaide Pioneers continued their strong start, dropping just two places en route to second-place after seven rounds.

Gold Coast Hawks and Perth Suns also chipped away to move to four wins each, while the Sydney Lions made big ground by winning four of five matches on Tuesday to sit within the top five.

The Hawks’ strong shot difference remains, sitting on the positive side of the ledger by 49 shots.

Just two wins separates fourth from last place, with all teams still in the finals hunt ahead of a big third day of action on Wednesday.

#BPL14 action resumes from 9am on Wednesday morning. Four matches will be streamed on Rinkside Live by Bowls Australia, before night matches are broadcast live on Fox Sports, Kayo and Sky Sport NZ from 4pm AEDT.
