BPL14 postponed until 2022
The next edition of the Bowls Premier League will be postponed until 2022, due to the implications of COVID-19 restrictions.
BPL14, which was scheduled to commence at Queensland’s Club Pine Rivers on November 8, will instead move to May 23-27, 2022.
As a result, there will be three editions of the coveted event in 2022, with the next staging scheduled for February 21-25 at Moama Bowling Club on the Victorian/NSW border.
The BPL Cup National Final will also relocate to the February event at Moama, with Bowls Australia to work with host venues to ensure the completion of all outstanding preliminary, regional and state final rounds.
Remaining BPL Cup preliminary and regional playoff rounds will be completed in Victoria, NSW and ACT by early December, with state finals to be completed in NSW and ACT by no later than January 9, 2022 and in Victoria by January 16, 2022.
BPL Cup events will continue in all other states as already scheduled, with remaining matches advertised here.
The BPL14 event will feature an expanded 10-team roster, with an increased $125,000 prize-pool and additional television broadcast coverage, up by four hours to 24-hours across the four days of competition.
The events will be shown live on Fox Sports, Kayo and Sky Sport NZ from 4pm-10pm AEST each night, with additional ‘Rinkside Live’ live-streaming through Facebook during the daytime rounds.
