#BPL17: Sherriff named MVP for record extending sixth time

Aron Sherriff has claimed an unprecedented sixth MVP award at the Bowls Premier League (BPL) following a stellar week for the Moama Steamers in which he polled 47 of a possible 54 votes, two shy of Corey Wedlock’s record of 49 at BPL16 in November.

The accolade is Sherriff’s third from the past four events and accompanies his BPL06, 07, 11, 14 and 15 triumphs to further entrench his status as the tournament’s greatest player.

His award indoctrinates him into a third BPL All Star team, becoming the only player in event history to amass three caps so far.

MVP runner-up Aaron Wilson joined him in the All Star squad following an scintillating campaign for the Sydney Lions, where he polled 43 votes to finish four behind his Right at Home Jackaroos teammate.

Jo Edwards enjoyed an magnificent week for the Moreton Bay Pirates, polling 18 votes to join Sherriff and Wilson for her maiden All Star cap.
