BPL20: Day 4 recap

by Aidan Davis on November 15, 2024

The Tweed Ospreys and Sydney Lions have secured passage through to Friday’s BPL20 finals action with an unassailable lead going into the final two rounds.

Both teams enjoyed five victories from as many starts on the penultimate day of the competition, to finish play with 14 wins, three clear of third placed Melbourne Extreme, to guarantee a blockbuster semi-final decider that will take place during the third broadcast time slot at 6.30pm AEST.

The remaining three finalist positions remain well and truly up for grabs in Friday’s last two round encounters, commencing from 10.30am AEST.

One win might not be enough to guarantee the Extreme a slot outright, with Adelaide Pioneers, Sydney Saints, Melbourne Pulse and Moama Steamers all within the hunt just one victory behind, on 10 wins.

Moreton Bay Pirates, Geelong Jets and Tasmania Tridents will have more work to do to make up the ground, on 9 wins each, while Perth Suns and Gold Coast Hawks will end their campaigns after the two round robbin encounters.

BPL20 runs from November 11-15, 2024, at Club Pine Rivers with live-streaming on Bowls Australia’s YouTube channel, as well as live broadcasts from Tuesday to Friday from 4pm until 10pm AEST on Fox, Kayo and Sky Sports NZ.
