Club Support Program charts road to success with CLUBMAP

by Aidan Davis on October 19, 2023

Bowls Clubs across the country will benefit from an enhanced Club Support Program, featuring integration with multiple specialist support providers, headlined by a new agreement with CLUBMAP.

CLUBMAP, who will be designated as “Preferred Club Development Supplier” through the arrangement, strive to create healthy clubs for connected communities by offering education, support and direction for all levels of community sport, to build club success and community connection for years to come.

Through the connection to Bowls Australia, CLUBMAP will assist Bowls Clubs with education and training through the provision of health checks and to-do lists, provide bowls-specific tailored webinars, assist with delivery of a centralised resource portal, and provide online support and community-building.

A particular focal point of the relationship will be the delivery of the jointly developed monthly free webinars, specific to the Bowls community, with the first scheduled to occur on November 14 and the second on December 12.

The topic of the first webinar will be Volunteers and Committee Structures, while the second will focus on Fundraising and New-Age Revenue, with each webinar delivered in two timeslots, at 7pm AEDT and 9.30pm AEDT.

Club administrators are encouraged to register and attend the free webinars, with registration links located below, to engage directly with Bowls Australia’s Club Support Managers and CLUBMAP through the facilitated question and answer section and interactive polls during the sessions.

Bowls Australia’s Chief Executive Officer Matthew Kennedy said the new approach to integrate and work directly with specialist support providers to complement the work of Bowls Australia’s Club Support Managers would provide immediate benefits.

“There are in excess of 1,800 Bowls Clubs across Australia, of various shapes and sizes, which all play a special role and contribute greatly to their respective local communities, predominantly driven by volunteer workforces, which, along with their participants, are the absolute lifeblood of the sport,” Kennedy said.

“The integration with CLUBMAP on a bowls-specific approach seeks to support and assist those who passionately administrate the sport, be it in a voluntary or paid capacity, as much as we possibly can via a new collaborative approach, and to provide every opportunity to all metropolitan and regional Bowls Clubs across all States and Territories to be the very best they can be.”

Subsequent webinar topics, and the new centralised resource portal, will be confirmed and released later in the year.
