Clubs to benefit from significant BowlsLink upgrade
BowlsLink is set for some exciting changes with an upgrade scheduled for Monday, August 5.
There are two important changes clubs and BowlsLink administrators should be aware of regarding the membership and club information areas as part of this update.
Membership
The BowlsLink membership area will receive a significant upgrade, with a new system allowing for more flexible options for clubs, and several added features to make it much easier for clubs to process memberships.
Flexible anniversaries will allow clubs to set memberships for any period (including as short as one day), set criteria based on age, have selectable memberships for anyone joining the club and even auto-renewals which notify members at a predetermined time their membership is due for payment.
Clubs can even allow members to complete online payments via their BowlsLink account.
Along with these advancements, five new BowlsLink National Participation Types will be introduced, covering a wider range of participants within our sport which clubs can align their memberships with.
Club Information
The BowlsLink club information area will be expanded to include a range of new data fields.
This information, which was previously collected by Bowls Australia Club Support Managers (CSMs) in a separate, now decommissioned system, provides clubs more oversight of their club information, including areas such as facilities, governance, sustainability, diversity and inclusion and additional greens information.
This area also allows clubs to register key officials which will create communication channels for regions, zones and state bodies within BowlsLink.
Bowls Australia General Manager – Participation and Programs Chris Evans said these changes will significantly assist clubs with administration moving forward.
“We hope clubs embrace these changes designed to assist them in recruiting and retaining members and understand the need for accurate information,” he said.
“I encourage clubs to reach out to our Club Support Managers, based in each state and territory, as they are available to assist clubs with strategies on how to best utilise BowlsLink, including providing support with these new developments.”
Further help material including training videos, manuals and e-learning modules will be released in conjunction with the BowlsLink upgrade on Monday, August 5.
