Clubs to visit this summer – Murray River Region

We continue our series scanning the country for the clubs you need to visit this summer, with the Murray River Region next in focus.

Moama Bowling Club

Considered one of the region’s premier sports and entertainment venues, the Moama Bowling Club offers multiple options for accommodation, dining and entertainment, as well as opportunities to play bowls on their grass rinks or undercover carpeted green. At a minimal cost of just $5 you can even become a member and receive many benefits at the home of the Bowls Premier League’s Murray Steamers.

Tocumwal Golf & Bowls Club

Equipped with a stunning 36 hole championship golf course, brand new bowling greens, on course Pro Shop, dining and entertainment facilities, Tocumwal Golf and Bowls Club situated on the border of Victoria and New South Wales is a must-visit. The superbly maintained golf courses and bowling greens are framed by native trees and abounding with bird life, with kangaroos and wild ducks often grazing on the lush fairways.

Barooga Sporties

With two Tiger Turf Carpet Greens, 16 rinks, extended licence clubhouse and an undercover BBQ area, the Sporties Barooga Bowls Club is a family-friendly club where everyone is welcome. Also situated just over the border, the club stage various bowls activities throughout the year including Jackpot Fridays, which is three bowl Mixed Pairs every Friday from 1.30pm or Mixed Medley Pairs on the second Tuesday every month from 10.00am. Every May, the club also hosts their four-day Sporties Barooga Classic Pairs event with excellent prizes and giveaways up to $20,000!

The Corowa RSL Club is situated in a beautiful location within the residential area of Corowa behind the RSL, on the bank of the Murray River. The town, a lovely park and local landmarks are all within a short walk from the club, with gorgeous sunsets promising to bring an inspiring end to a satisfying day of lawn bowls. The club also offers Bistro and fine dining experiences.

The clubs listed above highlight the wonders of the Mighty Murray River, however, don’t limit your visits to the Murray River Region. Other clubs within the North East Victoria and Southern NSW region include Bendigo, Shepparton, Wangaratta, Benalla, Deniliquin, Albury, Jerilderie and Finley.
