Clubs to visit this summer – North/East Western Australia
We continue our series scanning the country for the clubs you need to visit this summer, with North/East Western Australia next in focus.
Perth
Known as the club with the ‘million dollar views’, Mosman certainly lives up to its reputation as it enjoys one of the most unique sporting locations in Australia. The club has magnificent views of the Swan River, Perth city skyline and Darling Ranges, and is just 25 minutes south-west of the city.
Dalkeith-Nedlands Bowling Club
This club too enjoys stunning views of the Swan River directly opposite Mosman Park. Facilities include grass and synthetic greens at the well-governed club, which has a strong social bowls program.
Situated just north of the city and just one block back from the beautiful West Australian coastline, the North Beach Bowling Club offers a strong hospitality scene with restaurant and cafe options open for long hours.
Home of the recent Australian Champion of Champions event and winners of the 2019 BPL Cup, South Perth is a modestly-sized club with two synthetic greens and wonderful hospitality. What it lacks in size, it certainly makes up for in location, as it’s nestled in beautiful parklands and neighbour to the Perth Zoo!
Wheatbelt Region
Situated in the beautiful little tourist town of Jurien only a couple hours drive north of Perth, this welcoming club is a must-visit on your ventures in WA. The club ensures an active social and corporate bowls (Thursday nights) scene, making use of their brand new synthetic greens. Also nearby are several other sporting facilities, including golf and squash.
Mid West Region
If you blink you’ll miss it… One of the hidden gems on WA coastline located in one of the more picturesque marinas in Australia. With three well-maintained grass greens, a vibrant social program and plenty of accommodation in the local area, the holiday-atmosphere of Denison Bowling Club is well worth a visit.
