Clubs to visit this summer – South Australia

We continue our series scanning the country for the clubs you need to visit this summer, with South Australia next in focus.

Southern Regions

Robe Bowling Club

Situated on the waterfront overlooking the bay, the welcoming Robe Bowling Club offers a number of social initiatives for budding bowlers. Located on the Limestone Coast of South Australia, the club runs a mixed social day on Thursday afternoons, while until the end of January there are twilight bowls sessions run bi-weekly.

Port Elliott Bowling Club

Known as ‘The Carpet On The Coast’ and situated in the famous Horseshoe Bay on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula, the Port Elliot Bowling Club offers a relaxing atmosphere. Besides bowling, you can relax and have a drink or a meal in the newly renovated clubroom and take in the beautiful surroundings of the historic area.

Eastern Regions

Mannum Bowling Club

Located right in the heart of Mannum on the west bank of the Murray River, the club offers first-class synthetic greens and a friendly atmosphere as a ‘community club’ in a small country town.

Western Regions

Coffin Bay Sporting Club

Nestled at the foot of the sandhills, the Coffin Bay Sporting Club is located at the southern extremity of the Eyre Peninsula. The sporting club features a 9 hole golf course with greens, synthetic bowling green and pool tables. The clubrooms provide a picturesque outlook, great atmosphere to meet with friends or chat with the locals over a drink.

Northern Regions

Clare Bowling Club

Situated in the heart of the beautiful Clare Valley Wine Region, the club offers all-year-round bowling, both pennant and social. Boasting great clubrooms and a state-of-the-art kitchen, the club is a premier venue for all your bowling and hospitality needs.

Adelaide Metro

Salisbury Bowling Club

With excellent public transport into Adelaide by both road and rail, the Salisbury Bowling Club is one of the finest venues in Adelaide, boasting three Tifdwarf Greens, maintained in excellent condition by the club’s professional green-keeping staff.  A fourth green has been converted into an all-weather synthetic green. Boasting not only a first-class bowling surface but the entire green is also covered by a magnificent arched roof, the first of its kind in South Australia.

Ascot Park Bowling Club

The club boasts has three Tifdwarf greens of a very high standard and bowls are played all year round. South-west of the Adelaide CBD, the club is a must-visit on your travels in the City of Churches.

Holdfast Bay Bowling Club

Located in the heart of the Bay, Holdfast Bay welcomes all levels of lawn bowlers. The club offers three greens all maintained to the highest standards. The club is not only host to both national and international competitions but offers both social bowls for the more casual player as well as a very strong Night Owls Competition.

Port Noarlunga Bowling Club

Located in the small seaside suburb of Port Noarlunga about 30km to the south of Adelaide, the club boasts three excellent greens and a roomy clubroom with undercover patio and bar facilities overlooking the greens.

Adelaide Bowling Club

The oldest bowling club in South Australia, owners of the Adelaide Pioneers in the Bowls Premier League and host venue of the 2019/2020 World Champion of Champions events, the Adelaide Bowling Club is one of the premier clubs in the state and located just on the fringes of the CBD.
