Award-winning Australian country music singer Fanny Lumsden recently released a new single, titled Dig, which gives more than a nod to the sport of bowls.

Dig features a video clip filmed at NSW’s Adelong Bowling Club, and incorporates their members dancing in the video.

The local community charmed into the choreographed action include Peter Branch, Kathy Taylor, David Wren, Midge Richards, Judy Kuhn, Jack Beattie, Gordon Wignall, Greg Whitling and Peter Bull.

Last week, Fanny’s album Fallow, of which Dig is the fourth released single, claimed the coveted title of Best Country Album at the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Music Awards.

“For us, we’ve always had a grassroots style,” Lumsden said.

“It’s been about the songs and creating environments where people really connect with each other, but also connecting with regional Australia and telling those stories.

“It’s great that it has connected at a larger scale.”

On top of the ARIA Award, Fanny is headed to the 49th Golden Guitar Awards in January, with seven nominations for Fallow; including Album of the Year, Alt Country Album of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Single of the Year, Video of the Year and Heritage Song of the Year.

Fallow was conceived before and after massive bushfires hit the region last summer.
