curtain is drawing to a close as the narrative reaches its climax in the men’s
pairs final of the $140,000 Australian Open to be held later today at the
Darebin International Sports Centre.

New
South Wales representatives Andrew Rees and Brendon Baker are set to take
centre stage this afternoon against Victorian hopefuls Graeme Spry and Ray
Jansen.
Baker skipped his partner to success in their semi-finals berth over Bowls Australia
wildcard entrants Wayne Ruediger and Scott Thulborn in thrilling sensation,
prevailing 11-10 with the final now beckoning for the pair.
Across
the rinks Victoria’s Graeme Spry and Ray Jansen proved too strong for Western
Australia’s Clive Adams and Dave Rankin, with the pair ousting their opponents
in a tight tussle, reigning supreme 12-10 when the game was on the line.
The
dynamic duos have fought hard throughout the five day Australian Open
tournament, with their efforts being rewarded with their tickets being booked
in this afternoon’s men’s pairs final.
