by Bowls Australia on August 22, 2019

Bowls Australia (BA) will send two Emerging Jackaroos to compete in the upcoming World Under-25 Championships in Newcastle, England, later this year.

Jessica Srisamruaybai (Tweed Heads, NSW) and Mason Lewis (Engadine, NSW) have been announced as the entrusted individuals to represent Australia on the world stage, in both Singles and Mixed Pairs disciplines on offer at the prestigious event.

BA would like to acknowledge and thank both players’ home clubs in Tweed Heads and Engadine for their financial assistance and contribution in sending both players to this internationally-recognised event.

The duo will be joined on the ground in England by Team Manager Leah Lazzaro and BA Tactical Coach Andy Thomson.

BA National Coach Steve Glasson said the World Under-25 Championships was a wonderful opportunity for two rising stars of the sport.

“This event presents itself as an exciting and extremely beneficial opportunity for both players to hone their skills on the world stage,” Glasson said.

“Both Jessica and Mason will no doubt gain invaluable experience in being a part of an international competition, experience they can build on as their respective careers progress.

“We are thankful to both their home clubs for their support in being able to ensure Australia is represented at this event.”

BA would also like to extend its appreciation to Commonwealth Games Australia (CGA) for their ongoing support of our High Performance squads as we continue to prepare and plan for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
