Adelaide Endurance are poised for the sprint towards a APL semi-final berth A new contingent has emerged as a genuine contender for the $100,000 Australian Premier League title with only one day of play remaining at the revolutionary new event in Brisbane.

Adelaide Endurance have pinched pole position on top of the standings, with just one more round-robbin encounter poised before semi-final appearances, after three consecutive victories at Club Pine Rivers today.

The Endurance posted straight sets wins against the all-star Sydney Lions outfit, then the first placed Brisbane Gold, before taking to the Fox Sports 2 televised arena to produce an emphatic 6-1, 6-1 demolishing of the Melbourne Roys.

Brisbane’s loss to the Endurance, coupled with their broadcasted 3-11, 5-7 defeat by the Perth Suns, took them from two games clear on the ladder to trailing the Croweaters by half a set point.

The results have produced a log jam at the pointy end of the table, with the Suns also locked on 6 wins and only have a set point behind the Gold.

The last qualifying round will be staged at 2.00pm AEST at Brisbane’s Club Pine Rivers tomorrow, with the Fox Sports 2 and Sky TV NZ broadcast of the semi-finals commencing from 5.00pm, with Crackerjack star Mick Molloy back in the commentary box after his antics we met with widespread praise from viewers.
