Fisher and Murphy march to semi finals in NZ

The Australian assault on the World Champion of Champions singles event at the Burnside Bowling Club in Christchurch is heading towards the medal dais with Karen Murphy and Dylan Fisher currently atop their sections as the preliminary rounds come to close today having only lost four matches.
Fresh form the inaugural Australian Premier League in Brisbane, both players played 12 sectional round matches ahead of qualifying for finals and Murphy completed her preliminaries dropping  only three matches while Fisher,only faced defeat on one occasion throughout his dozen appearances dropping his only match to Jersey in tight nail-biting tie-breaker decided by one shot 3-4.
Cabramatta’s Murphy won her opening six matches before falling to England’s Amparo Truran then Fiji’s Litia Tikoisuva and China’s Yu Xiao Ya in consecutive matches in rounds 11 and 12 to finish with nine wins and a shot differential of 220 for and 137 against.
Fisher sailed through his first seven encounters only dropping a set on one occasion in that stretch of victories and then winning the next three to head into his final match against Macau today that he was victorious in 10-6, 12-4. At the conclusion of today’s final round match, the whizz kid from the Melbourne Bowling Club enjoyed a 11-1 win loss record having won 21 sets and losing three and boasted a shot differential of 227 for and 134 against.
Both players finished on top of the table in their sections and now advance to the semi finals on Saturday afternoon. The draw for the knockout matches to decide their semi final opponents will take place late on Friday.
