Flawless start to Aus Champ of Champs from foursome

by Aidan Davis

Local rising star Lauren Banks, Victorian duo Barrie Lester and Kylie Whitehead, and defending champion Lee Schraner have all produced flawless starts to the 2018 Australian Champion of Champions at Kingborough Bowls Club, Hobart.

The foursome were the only players of the 15-strong field to have won three from three matches, with the exception of Whitehead having a bye and winning two of two matches.

In what was a typically chilly Tasmanian day, players took time to adjust to the conditions which had a profound impact on the playing surface.

Players will contest two further matches tomorrow, before two further matches on Friday which will be pivotal in deciding the respective winners.

Bowls Australia (BA) will again be delivering Rinkside Live streaming to your devices, with our featured match plus crosses to a secondary rink per session.
