A widely requested ‘learn to bowl’ video has been produced on behalf of clubs across the country to utilise as an introductory tool for new participants.
The five-minute video explains the basic details of delivery and scoring, providing new players with concise and consistent information and the foundations to start enjoying the sport of bowls.
It’s envisaged that the video clip could be sent to participants (via an email/message link) at the time they make casual bowls bookings, before they arrive at the club to take to the greens.
On the day of bookings, it’s expected that the video will be shown on club television screens or a link shared for viewing on participant’s smartphones.
The clip is not designed as a coaching video, but rather simply to provide just enough information to get new participants rolling.
Jack rolling isn’t covered in the video, as it is often best to place jacks on the green to make it easier for new players to get started.
