Helping Hand Fund reaches significant milestone
The generosity of the Australian bowls community continues to shine through, with Bowls Australia’s (BA) Helping Hand Fund hitting a significant milestone.
Donations recently ticked over the $10,000 amount, with funds raised to assist clubs struggling through the COVID-19 pandemic.
To date, $11,125 has been donated to the fund, with five clubs and one association given financial assistance from the money that has been raised.
$500 donations from both Stawell Bowling Club and Burleigh Heads Bowls Club in December helped reach the milestone.
The Helping Hand Fund was established through the Australian Sports Foundation to assist clubs who had been hit hard by the pandemic this year, with generous donations made from individuals and clubs around the country to help those in need.
