Sean Ingham is named the Gold Coast’s best for 2018, as reported by the Gold Coast Bulletin.

Sean Ingham from Broadbeach has been awarded the Gold Coast Tweed Men’s District Representative Bowler of the Year.

Ingham was part of the successful Queensland District sides team that won the series in May on the Sunshine Coast.

He also played in multiple inter-district quad series throughout the year, gaining him enough votes from his peers to claim the award.

Ingham’s highlights of the year include winning the Queensland State Fours, Queensland State District Mixed Pairs, Tweed Heads Prestige Singles, Broadbeach Club Singles and runner-up in the $60,000 Helensvale Club 5-a-Side Challenge.

He was involved in the recent Australian camp on the Gold Coast as an Emerging Jackaroo squad member.

When not bowling, Ingham works behind the bar at Broadbeach Bowls Club in a duty manager role.

Last week he joined with Club Helensvale’s State Fours teammates Reed Burgess, Darren Christie and Sam White to claim bronze in the Australian Fours Championship at Club Sapphire, Merimbula, NSW.

Former Gold Coasters Jade Groenewege and Sean Baker won the Men’s Pairs event while Club Helensvale part-timer Kelsey Cottrell won the Women’s Pairs with St Johns Park (NSW) teammate Anne Johns.

Jessica Srisamruaybai and Chloe Stewart from Tweed Heads brought home bronze in the women’s Pairs after losing the Triples bronze medal match with Claire Turley.

Broadbeach’s Cheryl Hutchinson and Paradise Point’s Heather Hodgson lost the women’s Fours bronze medal playoff with their teammates from Dalby.

BCiB Jackaroos Ray Pearse (NSW) and Carla Krizanic (VIC) won the blue ribbon singles events.Caption: article courtesy of the Gold Coast Bulletin
