Latest National Rankings for July released

by Bowls Australia on August 8, 2019

The 2019-20 rankings year is underway, with Aron Sherriff and Natasha Scott continuing to hold their number one mantles, despite the trailing pack closing the gap.

Having finished the previous rankings year atop of the rankings following their 2019 Australian Open Singles titles, both Sherriff and Scott’s lead has been shaved slightly, with Corey Wedlock (NSW) and Dawn Hayman (NSW) respectively napping at their heels in second place.

Elsewhere, Ryan Bester’s Tweed Heads Open Singles victory saw edge closer top the top two, while there was a reshuffle of places in the women’s top five, with Hayman, Genevieve Delves (NSW) and Chloe Stewart (QLD) all exchanging places.

The National Rankings System operates on a yearly rolling-points system, where all points accrued are retained for a 12-month period and are then discounted.

The rankings year concludes at the completion of the Australian Open (June), with the number one ranked male and female players earning the titles of Male and Female Bowlers of the Year and $3,000 prize purses each.

Players can accrue ranking points from all national events, State Championships, State Champion of Champion and selected club events.
