Latest National Rankings for October released

by Aidan Davis on November 1, 2018

The latest National Rankings for October have been released and the Tasmanian pairing of Rebecca Van Asch and Lee Schraner continue their firm grasps on the number one mantles.

Despite not having played since the 2018 Australian Indoor Championships, Van Asch (maternal leave) still holds a narrow seven-point lead ahead of second-placed Gayle Edwards (VIC), while BCiB Australian Jackaroo Natasha Scott has shot up five places to number three following her NSW Ladies’ Champion of Champions Pairs triumph.

The male top three remain the same in Schraner, David Ferguson (NSW) and Ben Twist (NSW), while Ray Pearse’s NSW state singles title has him now sitting in fourth place.

Victories in the Ocean Shores Great Northern Open Classic Fours and QLD state Pairs and Fours has also seen Jackaroo Aron Sherriff climb seven places to sit inside the top five once more.

The National Rankings System operates on a yearly rolling-points system, where all points accrued are retained for a twelve-month period and are then discounted.

The rankings year concludes at the completion of the Australian Open in June 2019, with the number one ranked male and female players earning the titles of Male and Female Bowlers of the Year and $3,000 prize purses each.

Players can accrue ranking points from all national events, State Championships, State Champion of Champion and selected club events.
