by Val Febbo on June 7, 2022

A sublime run at a state event has set one male player up with a healthy lead going into the final month of the 2021-22 national rankings calendar.

Queensland’s Nick Cahill has extended his lead atop the men’s rankings following some scintillating form at his state championship event, claiming the men’s triples and mixed pairs trophies as well as finishing runner-up in the men’s pairs.

Cahill’s lead in top spot has been extended to 114 points over second placed Victorian Thor Shannon, who sits a further 40 points ahead of Kane Nelson in third place.

2021 Male Bowler of the Year Corey Wedlock sits in fourth position ahead of Jacob Nelson who rounds out the top quintet.

In the women’s rankings, South Australian Laini McGorman has overtaken Western Australia’s Hailey Packer for the top spot by a slender five points, with Kelsey Cottrell making a solid run a further seven points behind.

Emerging Jackaroo Chloe Morrison has stormed into fourth place, while the Northern Territory’s Sez James rounds out the top five.
