One-year extension for coaches and officials

by Bowls Australia on August 12, 2020

As an extension to Bowls Australia’s (BA) COVID-19 Return to Bowls Plan and with the support of the State and Territory Associations, BA will implement a free 12-month extension for all coaches and officials accreditation, effective for all those accredited at March 31, 2020.

This covers the period for those that may not have been able to reaccredit during the COVID-19 shutdown, while also affording extended goodwill to these volunteers who are often the lifeblood of our sport and stewards of play.

The free 12-month extensions will apply to those persons who were accredited as at March 31, 2020, in the following categories:

  • Markers;
  • Measurers;
  • Officials (including Umpires);
  • Introductory Coaches;
  • Club Coaches; and
  • Advanced Coaches.

The extension does not apply to Presenter & Assessor (P&A) accreditations, albeit P&As who are accredited officials and coaches will have those particular accreditation categories extended.

Endorsed by both the National Coaching Advisory Group and National Officiating Advisory Group, the period of 12 months affords some ease in administration by just adding one year to those accredited at that time.

New cards will not be issued but all coaches and officials will be advised of the extension, where contact details have been provided.

The national and state/territory databases will be updated to reflect the extensions, where the information is available and complete.
