Scott (nee Van Eldik) was announced as a member of the five-woman team to vie for gold at the Glasgow Games from July 23.
The 23-year-old has been a mainstay of the Australian team since making her debut in 2010 and becoming the youngest bowler to represent Australia at a Commonwealth Games in Delhi that year.
She narrowly missed a medal in the pairs with Lynsey Clarke (nee Armitage), who has also retained her position for Glasgow.
They join Kelsey Cottrell, Karen Murphy and debutante Carla Odgers in the line-up.
Scott said it was a relief to know she had secured a place.
“We’ve been going through the process for almost 18 months now and you’re never 100 per cent about your spot,” Scott said yesterday.
“Until today when the team was announced, nobody knew if they were definitely in the team or not.
“To actually know now, it’s definitely a relief, but I know I’ve got to put the hard work in over the next three to four months before we actually head over to the Games.”
Scott was trialled in positions across the triples and fours at the trans-Tasman titles last week but was unconcerned about where she will play in Glasgow amid news of her selection yesterday.
“To think that India was four years ago, it takes me back, it’s good,” she said.
“I’m still the youngest in the team but I’ve got legends of the game like Karen and Lynsey, and Kelsey, who’s been in the team since she was 15, so to be in a group with the likes of them puts my mind at ease.”
Scott will travel today to South Burnie in Tasmania for the national six-a-side tournament then the Australian titles.
Ettalong Memorial’s Aron Sherriff will spearhead the men’s team of Matthew Flapper, Nathan Rice, Wayne Ruediger and Brett Wilkie.
