Veterans to the sport in the Over 60s men’s and women’s pairs disciplines will take the Darebin greens tomorrow for their opening round appearances as they assert their claim on this year’s Australian Open prize purse.

Defending champions Christina Pavlov and Sue McKenzie are back hoping to retain their crowns in the women’s pairs.

While 2013 Australian Open Over 60s men’s pairs champion Barry Ferguson will be skipping for his Donvale Bowls Club partner Ron Hayes in the men’s draw, hoping again to be hoisting up the silverware on the last day of play in this year’s tournament

With a field of 46 representatives across 23 teams in the men’s pairs discipline and 44 participates across 22 teams in the women’s pairs draw, the defending champions will most certainly have their work cut out for them.

The action is set to be packed as the masters of the sport roll out tomorrow for their opening round clashes.

Catch all the action as the veterans of the game take to the Darebin greens tomorrow, with the men’s pairs commencing at 11am and the women’s pairs discipline getting underway from 1:30pm.
