Simmons spearheads new Kombat compaign

Bowls Australia’s official bowls apparel partner, Kombat Teamwear, has recently increased its commitment to the bowls community, as David Allen reports in the latest edition of Inside Bowls.

Long-serving Victorian player and former international representative Todd Simmons has been recruited to spearhead the bowls operations for market leader Kombat Teamwear.

A 270-state game state veteran, the dynamic Simmons says he is proud to be marketing the highest-profile clothing brand in sport to the bowls fraternity.
Furthermore he believes that having played in every state as a respected competitor of twenty-two years standing, coupled with an off-green reputation for reliability, integrity and a second-to-none approach to customer service, his fit with the Kombat Teamwear brand is perfect.

“Look I’m well aware that the old Kombat Clothing business collapsed last year and that was very sad for all involved,” Simmons said.

“But this is an exciting new company, with new people, and its absolutely debt-free.

“I was very impressed when the new owners honoured all pre-paid orders that the previous organisation handn’t supplied, at their own expense. They didn’t have to but they did anyway, to keep faith with the bowling clubs.

“To be honest, this gesture was one of the main attractions for me to join the company. It proved that the proprietors genuinely care about their clients, which is important to me.”

Simmons, 32, who made his international debut in the Aussie team that took on the might of South Africa and England in the 2006 Tri-Series at Tweed Heads Bowls Club, says his role with Kombat Teamwear is an exciting challenge.

“It’s a visionary organisation that is always on the lookout for new products and fabrics, which no doubt explains why it is the biggest name in sublimation printed or embroider attire for bowls clubs,” he said.

“We’re proud that, as official uniform supplies, we deck out the Australian teams that are doing so well on the international scene at present and look so great whether they’re out on the green or getting about in our leisure attire.

“But I’ll work with all bowls clubs to ensure they achieve the best quality attire at the best possible price. There’s nothing more satisfying in marketing than having a book full of happy customers.”

Simmons went on to explain that the quality control process at Kombat Teamwear is second-to-none, while adding that he had always been impressed with its range of styles, designs and colours, long before he had even thought about joining the company.

The seasoned southpaw has an enviable list of achievements from his bowls career, including many nationally televised matches, and was once described by TV commentator and former world champion Ian Schuback as having ‘the nearest I’ve seen to the perfect delivery’.

Asked whether he’ll be able to provide ‘perfect delivery’ for his clients, Simmons responded, “from go to whoa our aim will be to delvers the best quality product at the most affordable price in the most efficient time-frame. Hopefully this delivers all our customers the perfect products they deserve.”
