The $100,000 Australian Premier League is drawing nearer to uncovering its inaugural champion The $100,000 Australian Premier League is drawing nearer to uncovering its inaugural champion with tonight’s live Fox Sports 2 semi-final positions now confirmed.

The top four places of the revolution new competition have been decided, after the last round-robbin encounters were staged at Brisbane’s Club Pine Rivers today.

Brisbane Gold pinched back pole position on the standings after their straight sets 9-8, 8-2 victory over the Melbourne Roys in round 10; a result which proved particularly costly for the southern raiders, who finish outside the top four by an agonising one set over the course of the 20 set competition.

Adelaide Endurance surged their way into first place yesterday on the back of three consecutive wins but were relegated to second standing at the completion of the minor rounds after the New Zealand Blackjacks took them to the tie-break in the last encounter.

While the Endurance held their nerves to post a 3-5, 7-2, 1-0 win, pinching one set was enough to book the Blackjacks a semi-final berth in fourth spot, but ultimately cost the Croweaters first place.

The Perth Suns rounded out the listings, after their 3-4, 8-5 1-0 victory over the bottom placed Sydney Lions cemented their third placing overall.

Tonight’s first live Fox Sports 2 semi-final will feature the Adelaide Endurance and Perth Suns from 5pm AEST, while the second semi-final between hometown Brisbane Gold and across the ditch rivals New Zealand Blackjacks will commence at 6.30pm.

The gold medal final of the $100,000 competition will be ready to roll from 8.00pm, again featuring commentary from Crackerjack star Mick Molloy.
