Students of all abilities learn bowls through Jr. Jack Attack program

by Lachlan Williams on September 10, 2019

Students with disability completed their two week introduction to bowls this week at Bundanoon Bowling Club.

The bowlers enjoyed sunshine and smiles all round as they were given coaching and activities using the clubs Jr. Jack Attack kit, which are specially designed soft rubber bowls, perfect for kids to learn the fundamentals of the sport.

The Bundanoon Club volunteers and teacher James Good worked with Nick Hind from Bowls Australia to develop a program which showcased the students’ skills and saw rapid improvement from everyone involved.

Moss Vale High School and the club are looking to expand the program into the future with bowls at the Bundanoon Club a real hit and a game where anyone can compete, on a literal level playing field.

Bundanoon is inviting the community to come be involved with the sport and the club with regular games on Sunday afternoons and another season of Jack Attack coming soon.

Last season saw the Tennis Club take out the title but with fierce competition from the ten sides involved.
