The Coaches Den videos series are now online As part of its revised coaching reaccreditation policy for both introductory and club coaches nationwide, Bowls Australia have developed a new suite of online videos, entitled ‘The Coaches Den’.

The Coaches Den video series, hosted by national coach Steve Glasson OAM, aims to provide coaches with an engaging, user-friendly visual medium to increase standards and ensure the necessary development of novice and interim coaches across the sport.

The video series forms part of the reaccreditation process of introductory and club coaches, which also includes a log of regular practical coaching and a current competency letter from their club.

Five episodes of the series have been released in the initial stages, featuring an array of Australian Jackaroos squad members and Bowls Australia’s high performance coaches, with a further two videos released each month thereafter, for a total of 13.

The first episode features National Assistant Coach Robbie Dobbins explaining the three different bowls grips, episode two explains how to effectively stand on the mat, the third video revolves around 2012 Australian Open semi-finalist Neil Crisp demonstrating how to use a bowlers arm with Glasson, video number four is Dobbins and Australian Jackaroos captain Lynsey Clarke examining the different positions to look on the green when playing a shot, and the fifth includes a handful of Australia’s Jackaroos stars demonstrating their pre-shot routines.
