Bowls Australia will next week stage a bowls apparel and equipment trade day in Toowoomba, Queensland. As part of a new initiative to promote lawn bowls’ National Merchandising Program and provide regional locations with greater access to sport specific manufacturers, Bowls Australia will next week stage a bowls apparel and equipment trade day in Toowoomba.

Toowoomba will pilot the new initiative after being identified as a key region with limited access to licensed manufacturers and retailers.

Bowls Australia’s National Merchandise Program is a whole of sport initiative that helps generate revenue to support the employment of 15 Community Development Officers servicing metropolitan and regional areas nationwide, as well as the general development of the game at grassroots level, by endorsing clothing manufactures with a license that allows the use of BA logo on garmets they have manufactured.

“The trade day will provide bowlers in the Toowoomba area the opportunity to view the latest NMP products and apparel from 10 national licensees, with graphic artists on hand to help clubs design new team-ware,” Bowls Australia NMP and Licensing Coordinator Campbell Derrick said.

“Interest for the event has already been strong, with bowlers as far away as Charleville and Roma expressing an interest to attend.

“There will be plenty of giveaways, specials and free catering during the day so we encourage everyone to come along.”

The exhibition will take place at North Toowoomba Bowling Club on Wednesday, September 18 from 10am to 6pm, with free morning and afternoon tea and a sausage sizzle.
