Vale: Neville Day

by Aidan Davis on May 14, 2019

Bowls Australia was saddened to hear of the recent passing of one-time Australian representative Neville Day, 94.

Day laid claim to being the oldest person, at the time, to don the green and gold uniform for Australia in 1987 at the age of 63.

Day was Australia’s 88th men’s representative when selected for the 1987 Trans Tasman competition.

A seasoned NSW state representative, Day notched up 78 appearances for the Blues between 1974 and 1991, winning in the vicinity of 100 titles across all levels of competition.

A Sporting Champion Plaque was erected by the City of Canterbury in recognition of Day’s achievements by the City’s Mayor in 2007.

Bowls Australia express its condolences to Day’s family and friends.
