South Australian bowler Kate Smith has been nominated for the ‘Local Heroine’ award in the 2013 Australian Women’s Health Magazine Women In Sport Awards.
Kate, a 23-year-old lawn bowler from West Lakes Bowls Club in Adelaide is among five other nominees for the award including Snowboarder Amber Arazny, Aussie Rules footballer Daisy Pearce, Surfer Felicity Palmateer & Hammer Thrower Amber Hulley.
Kate is the sole lawn bowls representative among the nine awards which includes the 2013 Sports Woman of the Year and boasts the likes of golfer Karrie Webb, surfer Sally Fitzgibbons and Australian Cricketer Jodie Fields.
