#WarillaWorldCup: Gallant Van Asch falls to Kiwi star

by Bowls Australia on March 12, 2019

Australia’s Rebecca Van Asch has exited the 2019 World Cup at the semi-final stage, going down to New Zealand stalwart in a tie-break at Warilla.

In what was a topsy-turvy contest, the BCiB Australian Jackaroo took the first set 10-1 before Edwards reeled off nine of the next 11 ends to take the second set and the match tie-break.

In her first tournament back since the birth of her first child, Van Asch has secured herself a bronze medal.

Tomorrow, six-time World Cup winner Jeremy Henry will take on Malta’s Brendan Aquilina for a place in the final, to take place later in the day.
