A tantalising women’s fours final is booked for this
afternoon at the $140,000 Australian Open. Dominate
displays in the women’s fours draw has seen a tantalising final booked for this
afternoon at the $140,000 Australian Open.
Bowls Australia wildcard entrants
Anne Johns, Rebecca Van Asch, Kelsey Cottrell and Lynsey Clarke have advanced
their position in this year’s draw with a convincing 18-7 win over NSW’s
representatives Lauren Shaw, Ashleigh (Kate) Davis, Jasmin Kew and this year’s
Australian Open Under-18 runner up Molly Wilton.

The advancement in the draw sees
the dream Australian Open campaign align for Australian Jackaroo’s captain
Lynsey Clarke, having now secured final appearances in all three main events at
this year’s tournament, booking berths into the women’s singles, pairs and
fours championship deciders.

Clarke’s
suite will line up against Mt. Gravatt Bowls Club representatives Cathy Lewis,
Glenys Read, Debbie Logan and Christine Baxter.
Baxter’s brigade will be gunning
for Clarke’s crew after they accounted for Western Australia’s Laura Merz,
Chloe Stewart, Rechelle Cole and Kristina Krstic, 19-6.

Baxter skipped her ensemble
through their semi-finals berth in firm fashion, picking up multiple ends of
three, with consistent ends of one and two counts to advance their placing into
this year’s Australian Open final showdown.
