David Goddard has won the Silver Medal in the Men’s B.4 Singles following a runaway victory in the final round. David was directed by Barbara Whitehead.

In the B.3 Pairs Christine Henry and Tony Scott had a huge win in their final round to win the Silver Medal. They were directed by Ruth Telfer and Glenn Scott respectively.

Day five

Considering that we badly needed to pick up valuable points and peg back Sth Africa in the Overall Trophy, it was a little disappointing that we could only manage one win out four matches scheduled this morning. Sth Africa will take some catching in the overall trophy but I will be telling our Aussie Stars to keep their focus and concentration because we wont give up. You just never know but Sth Africa might get the wobbles and then we can pounce.

Australia is well placed in singles and pairs in most categories to be in the medal count and I’m confident the next few days will bring a lot of good news.

Tony Scott trailed 10 – 18 and produced some unbelievable bowls to recover the situation and get up for a 2 shot win. Ralph Simpson was always in control of his match and won by 8 shots. Sharon Dunk and David Goddard both played good consistent bowls and won by 9 shots.
